England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
