The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The most recent Far Cry title that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for celebrating chaos and insanity with the same glee, all while presenting captivating, ideologically themed stories. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those elements.
Show Details
Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a fresh location and group of personalities in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing confidence and assistance.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology program. Every title is a take of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always examining the core of society through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and introduce our shared unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the television.”
A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
