Series of Targeted Attacks
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.
This new event comes after other notable incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not officially confirmed as a matter of standard practice.
The conflict has been marked by shadowy operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
